Default What kind of Mufflers?

I have a 2003 Monte Carlo SS and i just pulled the res and threw in some straight pipe it adds a nice crackle but i dont know what kind of mufflers i want to use. i have a friend with a 2001 Monte ss but he put flowmaster super 44s and no offense to him but it sounded like crap. he pulled his res and it adds some rumble but i still dont care for it. i know i wont have no v-8 sounding exhaust but if i get a desent noise i will be happy. I need noise. Plus my k&n is so loud that i cant even hear my car. thanks for the help.

flow gives the best sound, magnaflow gives the best everything else. flow uses baffles to make the sound which causes loss in hp, torque, and mpg. magnaflow is wide open but makes v6s sound so-so. but doesnt affect have a adverse effect on the car. borla is the same as magnaflow but 10 times costlier. youtube the different mufflers to hear what they sound like then make your choice

if you need noise, leave it straight piped... i just have a glasspack in mine, i love how it sounds. VERY noisy , plus the glasspack takes a lot of hte crackling out when you let off the gas.

i agree with the above the flows give you the best sound theres no doubt but they did earn the nickname "chokemaster" because thats exactly what they do
