What do you think about
Dont waste your money. Short ram "hot air" intakes are good for nothing more than sound. The benefits you would see from more air would be offset by the fact that you are now taking in hot air from around the engine instead of cool air from outside. You would see more benefits from just dropping in a K&N air filter element into your airbox. Alot of guys like to run FWIs (fender well intakes) but that requires moving the battery and even the washer bottle if you have a pre 2000 monte carlo. Some guys also buy the K&N intake systems that have an area boxed off in the engine bay to keep the filter out of the hot air. I know 2000_black_ss has one you could check out his pics or PM him. Z34pheonix has a website with walk throughs on how to mod your 5th gen if you have one. He has a great page on there about FWI. You should check it out if thats what you want to do.

i personally wouldn't buy an intake off ebay unless it was somebody selling a k&n unit, with the monte's the filter really needs to have a heat shield around it, so spend the extra and get a k&n unit, and be happy with it afterwards
