Default What are the best Header's for the 3800 II ?

Well I have 2 cracks on my exhaust, one we were able to get at and weld. Yet the other will require extensive removal of surrounding components to access. Matt my mechanic suggested since we have to go that far I may as well have headers installed.
So I have looked into T.O.G. headers, SLP, Pacesetter etc. I see The Wide Body Store is offering their in house brand and are really talking them up. Plus the cost is a little bit lower, thus the savings could be diverted towards the mechanics labor. Anyone have an opinion on any makers in particular or ones to shy away from?? Appreciate any suggestions.... I'm leaning towards these W-Body ones....

A project 6 months in the making! 6 months! That's like half a year soo you know it's good! Our new headers are full T304 stainless steel and include a bolt-in downpipe. They are absolutely the most comprehensive kit at the best price you'll find. In fact, our headers include a higher quality V-band clamp than our competion and come in a full $250 less than their kit price.

■3/8" Flanges
■1.75" Primaries
■T304 Stainless Steel Construction
■Full TIG Welding
■Includes Bolt-In Downpipe (Not Pictured)
■V-Band Exhaust Clamp
■Includes rear Gasket

When compared to the competion's offering:
■Pacesetter- Better V-Band Clamp, stainless vs mild steel
■That other company who's name is part of a famous band - V-Band clamp vs their 2 bolt flange, cheaper by hundreds
■S&S- Stainless Steel vs their mild steel, larger crossover, better overall hardware
■Headers available from that auction site- Ours fit - what you find their won't without serious modification
■TOGs - Stainless Steel vs their mild steel, larger primaries, cheaper by over hundreds if you get their coating (and our headers don't need coating!)

Seriously, you won't find better headers for the money so stop looking.

Those W-Body headers look great!

I have Speed Daddy headers. They're probably the cheapest out there (Less than $200 shipped) I've got close to 20k miles with mine, no regrets so far

The clamps they came with didn't look too good so I used some EasySeal band clamps and a lot of RTV. No leaks so far. I also didn't like the gaskets they came with so I cleaned up my stock gaskets and re-used them. They also required an O2 extension. Other than that, the fitment was great, I find it odd that W-body store says those from the "auction-site do not fit without serious modification." I thought it was a pretty easy install. Took me and a friend a whole day with a lot of down time and breaks. Could probably do it now in 4-6 hours with some organization and all the right tools on hand. Definitely didn't require any serious modification.

Here's a link to them: Stainless SS Racing Manifold Header Exhaust Grand Prix GTP Regal Impala 3 8L V6 | eBay

I see the price has gone up slightly since last December when I bought them. I know cheap isn't always the best, but who knows with these? Only time will tell if they are worth it I suppose If money weren't an issue with my car I would definitely look into those W-body headers though. They typically have great products

Why do u need headers? aren't you turbo charged, i would think you want to run a plog that feeds into a 3inch dp and 3inch exhaust

Headers are better than a plog.

Zippy, remember there will be a lot of fabricating to get them headers to work with a turbo kit. Check out cartuning.ca you will have to email him but he makes turbo headers. That's what I am getting for mine.

Remember you'll probably have to get them ceramic coated also.

Those wbody headers look great, there will obviously need to be some fabricating but if you're fine with that I would do headers over togs

John your correct, after looking into the headers with Matt there would be a GREAT deal of fabricating to modify any headers to be compatiable with a Turbo system. Thanks for being on your game and pointing me in the direction of Cartuning with their Turbo headers. Seems like they have that nitch in the market...... Thanks again.... Sent Cartuning an e-mail will let you know how it develops.

My ZZP Plog is cracked on all 3 individual cylinder welded attaching points into the main channel. I see on ZZP's web site they only recommend the Plog for applications up to 300 hp after that they HIGHLY recommend headers for higher horse power applications......
