Just wondering if i should go straight pipe on my monte. I already removed the resonator and now im thinking of getting rid of the mufflers. will this sound ok or will it sound like a chainsaw lol..... ive heard people say it will sound like crap but with a cai a high flow downpipe and no resonator i dnt see why i wouldnt get a nice sound. just looking for some input thanks....

3800s (especially N/A) do not sound good under heavy load, they have a lot of rasp.

But it's ultimately your call.

If you like rasp, then go ahead...I wouldn't do it, I had a small exhaust leak once and sounded like a total ricer....lol...Also, you need a fair amount of back pressure I've been told. If you had a turbo I would say go for it.

my 2.8L bored to a 3.1 in my Z24 has a high flow cat and a glass pack and has a very very very nice rumble at low idle and high RPM....NO RASP!!

go with glasspacks if u want straight pipes.....they give u the sounds of straight pipes with a rumble but get rid of rasp
