Does anyone have pics of their stock 2000-2005 monte carlo ss exhaust system either on or off the car. On would be better. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to compare the differences between my 97 z34 stock system and one of the 6th gen.

 

Looks something like this, the middle tube starts from the manifolds and goes back to about the rear wheels, then the "Y" Pipe and the mufflers on each side of the car. in the middle of the long tube is a resonator to quiet things down, and just before that and the manifolds is the down pipe and cat, and "Ubend".

 

Thanks chuck. Now here is the million dollar question. That system looks exactly like the system on my 97 z34 with the same hanger locations and everything, so what is the difference between my exhaust and the system on a gen 6 monte that makes it so the cat back exhaust systems dont list my year in the applications? Better yet, will an aftermarket cat back system for a 2000-2005 monte ss fit my 97 z34?

 

heres the answer, the systems are identical.

I was running a borla off of a 98 z34 on my 2000 LS a few years back.

also, if you are interested, i have a complete "semi-stainless" exhaust off my 2004 supercharged ss that would bolt right up to your front pipe.

Comes complete with factory polished tips and all
