Default Side exhaust

Has anyone ever seen or heard of side exhaust on the 00-05 Monte Carlo SS? I want to run a dual side exit setup. I want to run a cherry bomb muffler then a y split to two 3 inch pipes going out the side before the rear tire. Is this possible and how do you think it will sound?

check your state laws first... in some states it's illegal to modify an exhuast that comes out the rear to go out the side... vice versa. would cost you some.. nad as low as our cars sit it mgiht bottom out on speed bumps.

Make sure you do a good job insulating the brake/fuel lines where you cross right next to/under them.

yah i think the monte's sit a little too low for that, you'll be bottoming out on all the speed bumps, would be nice too see, not really my cup of tea, but still be interesting to see, but yes thats where all your fuel and brake lines run too, so it may not be the best thing to do, you could do side exit behind the wheels and it would look cool

now what would be nice out the side before the wheels would be if you could find the nascar style exhaust exit! that would be awesome! i'd be all over that

you could do it if you built the pipes into the side skirt of the car which would require some cutting. the fuel lines run along thedriver's side of the car so you would want to stay clear of that. as for the brake lines....you could easily relocate those with some stainless steel lines. you would also probably have to heat shield the exhaust.

good luck!

Thanks for all the help guys
I didnt know the brake lines ran under there so that plan is out.
I will probably just end up running the pipes out the back

thats why the NASCAR side exit comes out the right... the lines run down the drivers side of the car. if you reach under your car about 6" you can feel them. i know, i used to rub them all the time when i put my car cover on.... (theres a whole about 10"-12" inside I hooked the bunjee cord in)

3" is probably too big a exhaust, you'll lose alot of hp and torque with that big of a system. but yeah it looks sweet. and im finally getting all my stuff in *tips arrived yesterday* for my side exit exhaust. so when its done ill get some pics 4 ya bro
