Default Should I buy a flowmaster for a 3.9l v6?

I have an 06 monte carlo 3.9l v6. I was wondering if a flowmaster would add much horsepower or be worth the money. Also what could I expect to pay to buy one and have it installed?
The car has duel exhaust.

A cat-back adds no HP to the car. Strictly for sound.

the only thing i would think would help out any is getting a high flow cat and see if that helps. besides an cold air intake for it as well as a tune. other than that changing the muffler just changes the baffels in the original and makes it a little more rumble out the rear and from the inside.

Thanks for the advice. I will give it a shot and see how it goes.

I got flowmaster 40's and they sound great. Nice low rumble and growl but not too crazy sounding. I like them

Hi Montecarloguy07

I have an 06LT with the 3.9 and want to put the flowmaster 40s on it . I have been to 2 places that said they couldn't do it because of the bend in the pipe just in front of the mufflers . Did you run into any problems and what part # are the mufflers you used ? Anything you can tell me would be helpful .

Thanks
Jim

I have the 50's on mine. Sounds great, no gains though. I installed them myself and had no issues.

I have the 3.9 too and originally wanted an exhaust. As nice as it would be, I'm having a hard time justifying it on a V6. I am going to put some tips on my exhaust. I want some magnaflow or flowmaster tips. Went to a few pipe shops after work today all they had was off brand stuff.
