Replacing the resonator
Hey everyone, so I just had some mufflers put on my 06 Monte SS and while I was there I thought about having the resonator taken out. But I decided against it because I just wasn't sure how the sound would change. I was wondering if anyone knew if it would change the sound for the better or if it is worse on sound quality. And would I lose or gain any performance? My car sounds good right now an my new mufflers sound amazing an I couldn't be happier. I just want a little more. At idle the car sounds amazing and when cruising it is really quite. If I could get a little more volume I would be pretty happy. But I also don't want to lose the quality of sound that I have now. Right now I don't have any rasp or popping. From what I have heard from some cars with no res is that they tend to have a lot a popping. Now granted that is with them reving up an down really fast which you wouldn't do with normal driving. Anyway, any help would be much appreciated.
i would watch a few clips on youtube wit the same car you got and u might like what you see, i know when i start my exhaust im getting rid of it. About the performance gain i dont know....would have to wait and see if another member can answer that
