The CAI I just installed on my 05 has an optional lid for Ram Air though air openings in the non stock Monte Carlo hood (I think I will work for the Monte, I is mainly designed for the Grand Prix though). Check out my sig for CAI brand, and I bought it from 3800performance.com.

Well you could run a tube all the way down to the opening and then a filter, but youll have to worry about water and dirty for the most part. Most just do a FWI or a CAI. Or you could get a ram air hood.

I used to have a cone filter on my monte (back when I had a 3100) that was a cone filter that had an adaptor you could stick in the end of it to connect tubing to. That way you ran tubing from the front of the car and it would ram straight into the opening at the top of the cone (it had an inverted cone of filter material at the top to give you a little more filter area on that end). Was pretty cheap too IIRC.

I'm really not sure what the brand is- I got it from either Autozone or Pepboys- so it had to be a cheapy like Spectre or something.

If you currently have a CAI- what filter do you have on there? What does the top of the cone look like? If its not a sealed, solid top- then you could rig something up to hook onto it?
