Does anyone know what size exhaust piping is used on the 2001 Monte 3400. Its middle of winter here and I cant get underneath and look. Im looking at replacing with a Magnaflow muffler and Cat Converter, and I just want to know what I should start looking at.

 

I have an 06 monte and I just put magnaflows on about a month ago. I'm pretty happy with the sound and I didnt replace the pipes. After the resonator, put in a Y pipe and two magnaflow mufflers. Its a little louder than I was hoping for, but the note is great. I thought that if you didnt have the super charged version, you didnt really benefit from having a larger exhaust pipe?

its 2 1/4, get rid of the u-bend, put a highflow cat on and get rid of the resonator....do whatever you want sound wise with the mufflers

 

well im not exactly going for sound, I leave that to the civic kids in the area. I got my magnaflow muffler for free so thats pretty much all im working with. I figured I would cut the exhaust pipe further to the front and pipe it out to the back with an exhaust tip on the end. Im not really goin for much here, but between the pipe adapters for the size difference, and the exhaust tip it wont be that expensive anyways. So ya know, I figured why the hell not.
