I am looking to get an exhaust system for my 06 ss, All i seem to find on the internet is a cat back system from magnaflow is this a good system to get? Does anyone know if there is any other kind out there?
I know that flowmaster has mufflers only, but i was looking for cat back. Any feedback would be great.

you could always have it custom done @ an exhaust shop with a high flow cat (universal) then have him change all the piping if you want...or just put 2 unirsal (any kind you want) mufflers @ the back of teh car

this way you could do any kind of exhaust you want, and have whatever sound you want...its always better to go this way

 

isn't it more expensive though to have some one to bend pipes so they fit on your car?

 

all the times i've seen it done, it works out cheaper.. at least in all my experiences with it

 

What size tubing would you guys recommend?

 

If it were me, I'd want 3" pipes attached to my LS4!! I had a full 3" stainless dual exhaust on my 1990 Z71 5.7L with twin glass packs. She was a monster!

 

3" can get really pricey...would be nice...but if its out of your price range then go with 2.5", there's nota HUGE difference between the both of them...

you'd be happy with the sound, performance and cost of a 2.5" system...but 3" if its in your price range is the way to go

 

true dat, wiz The thing with 3" pipes, too, is with certain mufflers, they can sound a bit obnoxious which is great for trucks and muscle cars, maybe not-so-much for a classier ride like the Monte. So 2.5"might bebetter sound-wise.
