Yes, that is what it means. If you let off the gas, then how do you ever race your car (or accelerate quickly onto a highway or something)- floor it until 5100, then let off and coast until it shifts, then floor it again until 5100, then coast? lol

If you don't like what the pcm does, then you can get it where they just turn off the code you have. You'd have to call zzp and see what they charge- but I can't imagine it would be much.

i dont completely let off the gas, just enough for it to shift i mean it shifts just as quick as if i would let it run all the way through a gear.

I'm confused why you would do that.

If you're worried about over-revving the engine, don't be. Unless the trans has a serious mechanical problem and is doing stupid slow shifts, it will shift before it hits the fuel cut rev limiter every time.

The engine is made to be able to operate all the way to redline, the springs, timing chain, etc- is all designed to be able to operate just fine all the way to fuel cut. So it is perfectly safe just to floor it and let it do it's thing.

If you're that worried about doing some kind of damage, or you don't want the car shifting so high- you could always have them program a pcm with lower shift points, so it starts the shift at 4700, maybe 4800- so it shifts by 5000 or so. Obviously your car is going to be slower if you do that though. If you're worried about wear- then you shouldn't be doing performance mods, and you shouldn't be using more than 50% throttle at any time then.

I'm no 60* expert, but I'm pretty sure your peak hp comes in at 5200 or 5300 rpm from what I remember, so forcing the car to shift means you're not even hitting the peak of your power band.
