i agree about the filter. i have a spectre filter from auto zone ($25) on my 3800 N/A monte, and sad to say...it is a hot air intake for the time being. but ive noticed a pick-up in the 3500 to about 4800 rpm's. before that it's about the same. after, eh its hard to tell (with the crappy 4 speed our monte's came with and what not).

and the sound....WOWWW! heheh > ive had people tell me it almost sounds like the growl of a v8 comming after them. haha i blew off a wannabe srt4 the other day on the freeway. hes buzz buzzin along tryin to impress somebody, i let him get up to my fender, then i let him have it. 30 m.p.h kick-down, i hear the growl of my monnte all the way to 70, and a faint little farting sound of the neon backfiring a quarter mile behind me. lol

 

want a lil more bang for your buck? buy about 2 feet of spectre pipeing and a little spectre connecting plastic thingy-ma-bob, run it into the fenderwell and pow! you just got a better gain and a better sound for your 3800. good job on the neon, i work at a dodge dealership and the neon's irritate me to no end, well all dodges do, (and i work at a dodge dealership go figure) you will not believe how many caviliers, sunfires, neons, talons, eclipses, and camrys try to hang with me on the highway, when they get cocky put the hammer down

exactly, silverstreak. i seem to live in an area that is INFESTED with ricers. it's like a nightmare. i love the summertime because i go to ever car show i can and see the REAL cars...American Muscle. lets see an eagle talon or neon srt4 go up a 572 big block in a 70 Chevelle. bye bye fart car!! haha

haha nice i live about an hour north of Pittsburgh, PA. my hope is to some day move to the southwest. both for the weather (i f-ing HATE snow), and to hopefully get away from the plague of ricers that is comming over my area...

 

really??? pittsburgh has that many ricers??? sorry man i just have a bunch of wannabes in my lil redneck town of pulaski, wi. i personnally love the snow, then again my house is 5 miles away from my job so its not that bad of a commute

 

dude i have ricers out the @$$ in f-ing elmira ok 2000000 points if you can find me cause i'm actually out in the sticks 5 mins. from elmira and i still have ricers. few weeks ago i blew away a focus with all the typicall ricer ammenities (wing, body kit, and fart can) and sadly its one of the better put together cars here anyway, i was headed down the highway and i hear a pissed off hornet sound coming up behind me while i'm doing 70mph so i watch him buzz by till he gets about 1/2 a car off my nose then i grab 3rd and floor it, the boost gauge pegs to 8-9ish and i walk on by him laughing the whole way caus his focus is whining soo bad needless to say he learned his lesson and his place

 

o yea and too boot he works at the exhaust shop that put my exhaust on a few days ago and he was the one who put my new mufflers on lol
