Default new exhaust reccomendation

hey guys, i was lookin for some advice in picking out a new exhaust system. i have read almost every post and what i am looking for is just not covered. i want something that will look good coming out the back end that will also sound nice. i have an 04 ss w/ the 3.8l motor. i am not looking for anything overly loud just something that will growl a little. the stock exaust is just so damn silent. please help.

If you are on a budget the Dynomax system that I have on my 03 is a very nice sounding system. You can find it for a little over $400 shipped (shop around to find the best price. Some places charge a ridiculous amount for shipping so watch out for that). It's not stainless but what I did was before I had it installed, I bought a couple of cans of high heat exhaust paint and sprayed all the pieces and it has held up well from the rust. If you have the ground effects package on your car the tips fit perfectly in the cut outs.

Dynomax gives a nice soft but deep growl that won't wake up the neighbors. Flowmasters and Magnaflow seem to be a bit louder.

All of them will still sound like a 6 banger though.

Not too many 6th gens around here have the SLP exhaust. I really want this system on my 05. I have no idea what it sounds like.

I got this exhaust about a 3 weeks ago, sounds great and i know it will last. 304 stainless all the way through with a polished resonator and polished mufflers and polished 4" tips. look at my photo album and you will see pics while it was being installed. couldnt be happier with it, not overly noisy....just right.

I also put the GMPP/magnaflow on my Intimidator w/ 3" down pipe and it sounds & looks great, the 4" polished double wall tips are fully adjustable so they can stick out a little more or less according to you preference and and like 2003supersport said the smaller resonator and mufflers are polished stainless and the pipes and supplied clamps are stainless as well. the system can also be ordered from any GM dealer if you can get a discount at one (through a friend or whatever) which would save you on the shipping
the GM part # is 12498617
