Default New Budweiser Chev Exhaust w/ pics

I have always preached that exhaust noise does not equal power and was proud of my stock exhaust. The BudChev has always been a stealthy fast car.

So I don't know what came over me, but I'm a hypocrite now.

A few month back I was able to pick up a ZZP 3" 304 downpipe locally for cheap. $70 Canadian, brand new. I just kinda hung on to it. Slowly I start putting together the rest of the parts at work and Wednesday I had a friendly exhaust shop do 'er up. Total overkill.

My exhaust is now completely custom 3" stainless, front to back. Even the y-pipe does not reduce - 2 3" exits. It's got 2 14" Magnaflow mufflers with 2 14" long 4" resonator tips. I think the work looks totally tough - very race car-ish. I'll have better photos of it in the air when my exhaust guy emails them to me.
View down a 4" barrel

Noise was such a big concern of mine that we added in a 3" 24" long resonator. It does not help. Its a loud low rumble.

I'm not sure I like it, but the performance gains are obvious. It's going to take some getting used to for sure. I haven't had it out on the highway yet. Next week I will likely retune if I can find the time to go to Cambridge (about an hour on the highway) - I'll get a good listen to it then

Looks good, but I can't stand that sound. I really hate V6's with exhausts on them. Just doesn't sound right.

well, first of all most of us only have a v6 and we are always looking into dual exhausts with some extra sound! just my opinion!!

I know I know. My mom had an 04 Monte SS so I know the V6 whoas. I just grew up around V8s and racing so that's the sound I prefer. That's why I said the exhaust look beautiful but I just don't dig the sound.

Oh, I hear ya! I'm not a fan of the sound either. I was really trying to muffle it but failed miserably in that department. Its a crazy free flowing exhaust, but I think I be changing the mufflers out. The Magnaflow's are not doing it for me.

Any suggestions for quiet, but good performing 3" mufflers? They have to be fairly small too.

Borla mufflers seem to be quieter.
