Default Need some opinions..

I've owned a 2000 Monte Carlo SS (3800 series, non-super-charged) for about a year and a half now. I've done a bit of modding to it stereo wise, but I kinda wanna do some things with the exhaust system. I've been reading a bit on the forums, specifically the post on the 3.9 LT3 with the dual Flowmaster Super 40s and the K&N Intake (see https://montecarloforum.com/m_42963/tm.htmand https://montecarloforum.com/m_42963/tm.htm) and I wanna know if a setup like that on an earlier model Monte Carlo would have generally the same effect. I don't really wanna go for that over-the-top hear me from 3 miles away sound, but something more like as the LT3 owner stated "like the Mustang GT but cleaner".

Any input or alternatives routes I could take would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

generally it would tho its a different engine and will sound somewhat different. in flowmaster the lower the number the louder it is. i.e. if u get the 40 series like i ahve its loud and proud, but if u get say a 60 series you'll hear it and it'll be known but its not loud just has a nice grumble to it.

personally id go with a high flow cat, ubent delete, resonator delete and perhaps a 44 or 50 series flowmaster, that'll sound real nice on your car but wont be rattling the windows of nearby houses.

whatever you choose let us know and post some clips so we can hear her roar

exactly what chris said, high flow cat, u-bend delete, resonator delete and some flowmaster 44's or even magnaflows have a good (but not too loud) sound to them

welcome to the site, keep us posted
