Default Need some advice on Cold Air Intakes

Ok so im thinking about getting a cold air intake for my monte carlo.

First off, are the actually worth it?
I hear some people say they are and some say they are not

Do they actually enhance performance? What exactly do they do?
Would I have any noticeable sound difference

Which ones are the best? I would assume K&N right? Is they K&N one worth the $$$?

I have the K&N wish I had gotten the CAI brand but K&N is suitable

You do get some throttle body sound that is awesome some more torc, horse power ya some but not that noticeable

Would I do it over again? Yes but with CAI as it offers more heat isolation than K&N

K&N is probably the worst of the bunch. It's not even marketed as a cold air intake, it's marketed as a Fuel-Injected Performance Kit.

All it does it let hot air into the car.

Cold Air Intakes allow MORE air to enter the engine. Also this air is cool, not hot like the air in your engine bay. Colder air is denser, and denser means more air fits in the same amount of volume.

By creating more air INTO the engine, more fuel can ignite in the cylinder, and more power can be made.

The stock system allows cold air into the engine, but the intake is restrictive and doesn't allow a lot of that cold air in.

Personally think the ColdAirInductions.com kit is the nicest looking and best performing.

Then would be the Wizaired kit, sold from ZZP

I actually got the ColdAirInductions kit for my 2013 Camaro.

Would you recommend getting one for a monte carlo or is it not really worth the $$$?

If I wasn't doing the supercharger that I am, I would have put it on my Monte.

This is what I would do: http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...Turbo-Kit.aspx

It's technically an air intake and it's a cai if you go with an intercooler

Otherwise your only other option is to make a homemade intake.
