Default Muffler and Tip Install

So I finally got around to getting the Magnaflow tips that look so good on the Monte's . I was also getting a lot of cabin noise from my exhaust and the mufflers were still stock so it may have been time for a little upgrade. The stainless Magnaflow mufflers were a bit out of my price range so I bought the Thrush welded mufflers, and did my own install. I think it turned out pretty good! At idle, you would swear it was an SS. Not too loud when running down the road either. Pics below!

I used a sawsall to cut the mufflers out. As you may be able to tell in the pics, I re-used the tailpipes from the original mufflers because they have the bend to make the tips straight. I bought some straight pipe at first and it was wayyy off.

The mufflers were pretty beat up!

This should do the trick. The clamp was used to keep the pipes in place while waiting to be welded (with only the finest coat hangers for braising wires )

Finished product. The tips could use a good polish after the install, but I think it looks good nonetheless!

I'm actually very pleased with the sound. It just gives it a nice deep tone. It's my daily driver so I wasn't looking for anything extremely loud all the time. Definitely a good stock replacement

I got them from summitracing.com. these are the 3" outlet ones, about $35 a piece.
The mufflers I just bought on amazon and those were about the same.

If you can, paint the mufflers. Whenever you don't get anything stainless, try to throw a little paint their way to help against surface rusting.
