muffler choices

what the difference between chambered mufflers and turbo mufflers?

Turbo mufflers have a turbine inside that rotates by the power of the air flow sort of sucks the exhaust out of the muffler. Baffled has chambers to muffle the sound and are passive.

I met a dude at sammy's that had a custom motercycle with turbo mufflers and he explained it to me.

the turbines in the pipe or muffler are not powered by electric or any means other than the exhaust passing thru them and rotating them sort of like a pin wheel. at least this was the case in this dude's motor cycle

Thrush has been around for a LONG time, and they have always been the cheap alternative. They will not last long, I can attest for that trying some back in the 80s. The old adage, you get what you pay for, rings very true with their products.

You will definately notice a loss in back pressure but I dont really race or need to smash the gas. Everything still runs good. I intentionally pull off slow so people can hear how deep it is lol.

i didnt notice much of a loss. it feels like i have more low end torque tho. druben do you have the 3.4 ohv engine?

No I have the 3.8, when I had my stock pipes and I smashed the gas it would give some thrust but.now It still has it.but.not.as much as before.

hmm idk then. maybe its bc i have a dohc engine? they usually sound better than ohv v6's but are a pain in the neck to work on
