It's just a cheaper version of the Magnaflow IMO, it doesn't sound as bad as Flowmaster, but not as good as Magnaflow.

That's just my opinion though, in the end it's your car and you should go with what you think sounds the best

I haven't heard a good magnaflow yet, if you could show me a video one that'd be cool.. How did you not like the thrush? It kept a deep tone in the video.

Here's a comparison of different mufflers on a variety of cars, I tried to keep it down to monte's..

Magnaflow:
2001 Monte Carlo SS exhaust - YouTube - Sounds okay, could be a little louder maybe.

2001 Monte Carlo ss dual magnaflow exhaust - YouTube - Don't really care for the sound of this one.

2002 Monte Carlo SS Magnaflow Exhaust - YouTube - Sounds okay.

Realize that the one with the glasspack (frank's monte) is basically straight piped.

Hopefully Mike will step in and post his video of his GMPP which is just magnaflow basically, I really like how that sounds.

I would keep listening on youtube and find what you like and listen with good, bassy headphones on, that will give you the most realistic feeling of what it actually sounds like in person

That's what I plan on doing. I plan to have the mufflers removed, and the res, and put the thrush glasspack where the res was.

I think you will run into a couple of high rpm and cruising rasp issues, which is a common problem with the 3800, just something to think about, you can always add another resonator or glasspack also

I would also consider putting a resonator in instead of the glasspack, because a glasspack is just as it's name states, a pipe packed with fiberglass, and it will eventually burn up and just be a straight pipe.

Nahh, I like the glasspack If it burns up and I don't like the straight pipe sound. I'll get another one. Also, will 2 glasspacks fit where the res was? Lol, would adding another one make it quieter if it's too loud?

That depends on the manufacturer:

'Non-fiberglass acoustic packing for longevity & superior sound dampening'

MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust

Like mitch said, you just have to keep listening on youtube until you find something you like. If it were me i'd probably be able to make a decision from the videos above. The 3800 isn't the best sounding engine so its tough to get it to sound good with little or no rasp.
