if you can forgive me for saying so, 1: thats a very vague post, whats the problem? 2: if you can't figure out if hte problem is the intake manifold gasket or a transmission, then you need a better mechanic... the intake manifold gasket would let crap leak out, you'd have gas on your intake manifold after driving for very long. if it was your transmission, you'd feel it slipping, not wanting to go in a certain gear, not upshifting-downshifting properly, etc.

The cheaper way would be to actually diagnose the real problem so you aren't just replacing all kinds of stuff hoping to fix it.

Why don't you post up the symptoms so someone can try and help?

well im still new to this site, and dont know how to work it.. but see the rpms are going crazy... see we took it up to Jim Raysicks, and they tested it or something like that, and said that it showed up as a problem on the tranny.

then yes, your transmission is going bad. you've lost second gear and your transmission can't shift into it, although it's trying. thats why your rpms go crazy. pull the car's gear stick all the way back into 1 and drive it somewhere to get a new transmission put in.

btw, you might get better luck in some place besides the exhaust section. maybe the general monte carlo talk or engine & internal.

If the shop said its the tranny, they're probably right. Its very simple to see exactly what is happening in the trans with a scan tool- so I'd bet they're dead on.

Did anybody pull the Trans Dipstick and check for Fluid in that tranny.
Just a tiny leak will drip-out enough fluid to make make it not go, over time.
