Cool them I've ordered the right kit from gmpartsdirect.com. I thought that was it for sure so I placed the order earlier... Probably be like 20 days or so before I see them though. Surely PM Performance has fix some of the issue of the UBend with this kit, it seems like it's not as restricted.... by the photo.. If not I wonder how I'll setup a straight piece to fix this UBend plus getting the O2 sensor in without damaging it.... I have SLP Headers and an High Flow cat from SLP on the way but then I'm thinking if this kit still has the UBend how much good is it really doing without taking the UBend out....

the best way i found to solve the u bend issue is to have 2 manifolds built, and run the front one like the FWD hondas do and havae them collect under the car into 1 pipe. maybe someone knows of a better way?

I found a good way to fix the U-bend issue too. Buy a race pipe from 3800performance.com or ZZP.

On the exhaust that does sound real nice. Kudo's to the plate frames too.

I'm a new member of the forum, but have been reading the posts on here for the past year. Wanted to put in my 2 cents on the GMPP (GM Performace Parts) exhaust system (#12498617) which I recenlty purchased from GM Parts Direct and had put on my monte. Removal of the stock exhaust went pretty smooth, and the installation of the new one went smooth also except for a few things.

1. The exhaust bracket kit that GMPP recommends (#12498653) has a few flaws:

a. The bracket (#10328741) with the kit is really intended ONLY for the 2000-2005 Impala. Reason I
say that is because this bracket will not give proper clearance or spacing for the 4 inch exhaust
tips that come with the upgradeexhaust system(#12498617)without any spacers as Donutboy
had to use to get the correct spacing to match the other side. The instruction sheet still has the
older part # (#10301945) which was updated by GMPP to the new one(#10328741), butit doesn't
reflect that yet. The correct bracket, whichI had to order separatelyafter temporarily using the
incorrect one, really to get is (#10328742) which I found from Corsa's website in their instructions
fortheir own exhaust system kit. (#10328742) is the bracket intended for the 2000-2005 Monte
Carlo and 1997-2004 Grand Prix since both of these cars use the same bracket, but GMPP is not
recommending any bracket kits except for (#12498653) for all three cars. And their instructions for
the exhaust system (#12498617) reflect this as well. So as a result, GM Parts Direct is making the
recommendation on their website as well from what the exhaust system instructions have.

b. The insulators (#10231659) that came with bracket kit were also different from the original ones I
had on the stock mufflerwhich had (#10304424) insulators instead. So now, with the correct
bracket (#10328742) and two different types of insulators, the spacing on the exhaust tips still
donot match since GMPP had sent (#10231659) as the insulators to use on the bracket

The new exhaust looks pretty solid man, and the mud-flaps look pretty bad*** as well, nice job. Great looking monte, I will have to wait till after work to listen to the sound clips.
