so i got my resonator hacked off ... welded up some Thrush Welded Mufflers in place of the stock oil drums and it sounds lovely ... for the other thread about 06 SS res delete ... DO IT

first video is before new exhaust ... useless to watch if you have an 06-07 ss

second one is after its all done ... sorry about the wind, if anyone is actually interested in hearing it nice and clean im going to get another video when i get the HID's put in this weekend, and some pictures after i get don rome's STB bars installed, they have been bouncing around in the trunk cause i cant find a torque wrench to borrow ...

thought id mention this because its been said before ... and as a deterrent to getting the resonator getting cut out they say there is a raspy- echo like sound that they wouldnt like ... and i always kind of worried about that before doing mine but i realized something after

how many times while driving do you rev your car over 3000 rpm and then let the rpm's fall back to idle without driving unless you're showing off

in normal driving and a few take-offs from stoplights ive never once heard it rattle or get all raspy and break up ... its only revving at a stand still that its noticeable

blame it on the wind and them not being broken in but i can mostly certainly tell a difference ... but then again i drive it every day so i noticed

when they were hacking stuff off i started the car with the remote start when it was on the lift simply for the fun of hearing it and almost told them to go straight pipe ... :p

i can tell on the second vid is just a tad louder at start up but as far as the rest of the sound it's about the same. you should of went with flowmaster super 44 i think. that would of been perfect sound for your V8

these are imitations of a flowmaster design apparently ( dont know whether they mimic actual dimensions and flow chambers or sound and volume ) but all i know is that i listened to many a youtube video ... and according to the people at LS1tech forums ... flowmasters actually dampen the performance ... could be hearsay but all i know is i got everything purchased and installed for less than the price of flowmaster mufflers by themselves

Sounds great!

Makes me jealous. I hate my crappy sounding 3800 exhaust.
