Question Glasspacks on LS4

Has anyone welded up glasspacks in place of the stock mufflers and left the rest of the exhaust system stock?

I currently have Summit Racing race mufflers on and I was considering going to something louder. I just wanted to know/hear about others opinions and/or hear what it might sound like.

Thanks!

P.S. I do love how my car sounds, but it just seems a little tame.

Yeah, I think Ive heard one that was piped and it sounded bad ***. I belive it had resonated tips though, and they were like 12" long. The tips were 12" long is what I mean so that would make it sound alot different with that long of resonators.
What do you plan on doing with your current mufflers>>?

I can't speak for straight piped LS4's specifically; but I do have a cutout, so its somewhat similar. I will say, its not nearly the same sound as a louder modded GTO, camaro, etc- IMO it sounds more like a louder LS powered truck (I guess probably because of the exhaust crossover).

Not to say that's a bad thing- I'd take the sound any day over just about any exhaust on a 3800- I just love the sound of my buddy's LS2 goat with kooks longtubes and a catback; and my car sounds like it has a totally different engine.

Well, I'd probably sand them up, repaint, and maybe sell them? IDK as of right now.

im not running mufflers on mine. just the magnaflow resonator. its not as loud as you would think. the cutout is definitely louder. with the factory resonator it would sound similar to mine. i think it would be kind of a waste of money to put the glass packs on it. just take the mufflers off and straight pipe it.

If its anything like open cutout- awful; like a helicopter, especially under a little load in DOD.

Yeah, I get that enough now, just with the race mufflers.
