What's this car to you? How much do you enjoy having Air Conditioning?
Example of 3800 headers that require removing the a/c, please?

I`ve decided against headers since I have to give up some of what is great of driving a Monte Carlo
Examples of what you have to give up to run this car with headers?

Well... I could be wrong. But I'll try to illustrate. Unfortunately my car is in storage so I can't get exactly what I want here but here's another shot

That thing I have circled is some fixed A/C line that wants to pass through the gap between my exhaust and plastic rad fan assembly. As it is with my PLOG, that gap is little more than an inch I think. I dunno. I've kinda studied this on my car and decided again making the neccessary mods. And some people use shorter dog bones? This also confuses me. I'm pretty sure I couldn't without melting some things.

There's no way any of those headers Britney posted would just bolt up in my Monte Carlo. Now I assume not all Monte's are that tight in there, but I don't understand quite why mine would be different. We're all talking 2004's here too. I know those headers would fit in my 98 Regal GS no problem. I've also noticed that a lot of header listings specify Grand Prix and Regal, but not Monte Carlo so by that I assume there is some fitment issues.

Anyways, sounds like you've been down this road already bigriggs so I trust your advise!

Honestly, the advice sounds good for an engine swap or turbo/supercharger upgrade but not for headers.....Headers are a bolt on, nothing more nothing less imo they should not in any way effect the rest of the car.

And yes some may choose performance over appearance mods and those parts won't get you into a calendar, but they may get you a win at the track (or on the street) and for some that is more satisfying.

I have these headers
http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1886

They get glose to the fan in front, but it doesnt affect anything. They seal pretty good, I only have a tiny tiny leak in the crossover which i fixed. The speed daddys are probably the best for how cheap they are, and you will love the sound. Also, you could mabye even drop a pulley size with them. Theyre hard to get in though, thats for sure.

I've heard more fitment issues with the SSA Brock has than with the Speed Daddy.
The issue with Speed Daddy is that they sit low, I don't know what the SSA look like underneath. ... ahem, brock; pics please.

Hmm okay well I'll kinda quickly explain what I want (as of right now) for the monte. It's kinda changed since the last time I explained. What I'm looking for more then anything right now is show car quality, I need my monte to be as amazing as possible for car shows since car shows are such a huge part of my life at the moment (it's what makes me happy). Do I still want performance? Hell yes I do, but my next monte is gonna be more of a track car then this one. I'm looking for 300-400 horsepower for this one eventually, but I've been focusing on the outside lately bcuz of the car show stuff. My exterior is almost done & I'm still trying to make the final decision on the interior mods so I'm starting to research more into performance then what I have in the past. Hopefully that answers everyone's questions about what I want for her lol so anyway moving on, I'm guessing I will be getting the Speed Daddy ones but now I'm wondering on how much they change the sound of the car. Mike has the res +ubend delete on his monte & I think it sounds amazing which is why I want it (& it's a cheap change instead of my $800 plan I had) but I'm kinda wondering if the headers will really affect the way it'll sound

I think that you can get the best of both worlds with a nice chrome finish on the headers. Isn't that something that the judges will give you points for? Just a heads up... Make sure you clean all of your fingerprints off of them BEFORE you start the car. The oil in your fingers can leave a permanent stain once they start to develop their color from the heat of the exhaust.

Yea theyre hard to keep clean but if you polish them they stay ok. The SSA ones do not hang as low as the speed daddys which I love. Ill get pics tomorrow. Mabye a sound video too? lol
