Default Finally got the Monte up and running.

Shortly after I installed the Wizaired CAI my car was having problems with randomly stalling after a few minutes, and eventually not starting at all.
I took it to the shop and it turns out it was the crank position sensor, and ignition relay. Got that fixed for a pretty penny and now it is running smooth again.
He complimented my CAI installation, which was cool. One thing my mechanic mentioned to me was about the MAF sensor going into the wizaired was that I should saw out a little piece of the plug connection from the old air box where the sensor used to plug into and connect it in my new intake. He said that it will run rich if I don't, and will eventually throw a code, which I already did on the drive home from the shop. So I guess I will disconnect the -battery cable and cut out the MAF sensor plug from the old box and slap it in and see if that solves the problem.
I am glad to have my car running again though!

Glad to hear the Monte is rollin' again.

I don't think the mechanic was talking about the MAF (Mass Air Flow sensor), as that bolts into the throttle body and should not need relocated as part of a CAI install. He may have been refering to the MAT (Mass Air Temperature sensor). That is the sensor I think commonly found in the rubber tube/hose connecting the t-body and the air box.

I have not installed a CAI, but as I understand the MAT sensor needs relocated in the process.

There is a great write up on this forum about installing a CAI on our cars and proper relocation of the MAT sensor. I just can't seem to find it right now. Perhaps someone can chime in with a link??

IAT is the common name, intake air temperature sensor.

The wizaired should have had the spot for it easily

Yes, the IAT sensor. Sorry about that.
ChibiBlackSheep, that's what I thought as well. I put it right into that little hole on the side of the CAI box right where it's supposed to go.
It's funny because he told me I had it perfect how I had it, but then he tells me to plug it in to the old plug! I was sort of confused on that part.
To my understanding as long as the IAT sensor is in the little hole of the Wizaired it should be fine right?
Thanks for you're attention folks.

Ok, I sort of I feel like a horses a$$.
After further inspection of the old intake tube where the IAT sensor plugs into, I saw I was able to pop it right out of the place it sits in, and plug it directly back into the connector, and stick it right into the Wizaired.
I didn't realize I was supposed to connect it back in. I do not know how that one went over my head. I apologize for my gross error. (Tip toes out of post)

P.S. Thanks again for the help ChibiBlackSheep, and The_Maniac. Good folks.

It happens to the best of us. I think all of us are guilty of overlooking something simple. Glad it was an easy fix!
