Exhaust Wrap...
Looking at wrapping my new crossover pipe with white fiberglass nonadhesive wrap...comes with 6 stainless steel ties.... any help or advise in installing this or should I even get it?
If you're going to wrap anything, it's oging to retain heat.... and if you're going to retain heat, you need to make sure the temperature at the cylidner head wehre the exhaust gasses leave is the hottest, and keep the air as hot as possible. Wrapping the crossover pipe seems a little late... I'd try to put some heat wrap around the manifold alot closer to the exist from the cylinder head... but I would put headers on before I did that!
Ok I will get some high temp spray then..... does it matter if it is ceramic coated already? I know what you mean Cowboy, but Im just doing it to keep as much heat off the intake as possible so thats kinda my thoughts in doing it in the first place.
Thanks guys for the help!

I dont see it really holding that much moisture, its gonna get hot enough to evaporate anything it needs to right away. I mean mabye if you dont run it and leave it in a humid garage for days itll rust a bit.
I don't have the luxury of a garage and found the hard way about the wraps properties of retaining moisture. A friend suggested painting the pipes with high temp paint and, after re-sanding, I re-wrapped the pipes and now they are great. No moisture problems or rust.
