Default Exhaust recommendation, budget friendly.

I'm looking to get exhaust on my 2000 Monte SS. I have about 200 to spend on the exhuast and then im gonna buy K&N Intake. Anyone have any idea's for me? No straight pipe.

don't buy the K&N get the wizaired from ZZPerformance. The K&N intake is crap compared to the Wizaired because it lets warm air get to the filter.

As for exhaust, anything is going to have some drone and kind of annoying sound with the 3800... A lot of people like the GMPP cat back but that is discontinued, i believe it is magnaflow mufflers though, it has a nice low rumble and minimal rasp and drone from what I've heard.

I bought two SLP loudmouth mufflers on craigslist for $100 & they sound good ..

the loudmouths are very raspy at high rpms aren't they? they definitely have more tone at higher rpms than straightpipe but i thought they were a little obnoxious at high rpms on the 3800s?

I think they sound nice,not raspy, but when I installed headers they sounded obnoxious thats why I removed my headers ..

i didn't know you took the headers off, why didn't you just get different mufflers and keep the power gains?

Yeah I took headers off and sold them to 03JGMonte (Mike) cheap..
the exhaust had a drone kind of annoying sound with headers? Loud sound
It did have more power off the line ..

Yeah i got the front one one the rear looks a lil tricky, wish i coulda put it on before i dropped the motor in
