whats the best way to go when it comes to a new exhaust system for a 2006 monte carlo SS? I want it to be loud but not loud enough to get pulled over.

Magnaflow makes a kit for your car. I believe its from the y pipe back but it may be the whole catback. It sounds pretty good, I think a few members here have it.

Magnaflow has a great system for your car.

The Nascar editions of the MCSS came with Flowmasters

You should be able to find sound-clips for them both

i think the magnaflow is the biggest waste of money spent elsewhere. i have it and wound up taking the mufflers off. its slightly louder than stock. its a whole catback and fixes the down sized factory y. i would say your best bet would be to pull the factory mufflers off and have an exhaust shop weld you a straight 2.5 inch y out the back. ive never been pulled over for the car being to loud and the factory resonator is more than enough. mine is slightly louder than a factory exhaust straight piped. im running the magnaflow resonator and piping with no mufflers just straight pipes with there tips. if you do a search i have videos posted on here of it.

Hey Monte Man, I did a search and couldn't find your sound clip, please post if you get a chance. Also, what size exhaust tips did you go with?

Chibi... do you mean the NASCAR Montes like mine have the FlowMasters? Cuz if these are... I want new ones, cuz my SS S/C is completly silent.
