Default Exhaust/Air Filter

I have a 2002 Monte Carlo SS Dale Earnhart. If I put Flo Masters and a K & N Filter, will I get a little more umph from the engine?

my ears must be broke.... i don't hear them like you guys do. they sound fine on a V8, but there seems to always be something that sounds better than a slowmaster on anything they sound good. i guess it comes down to what you want... to bea parody of one of space's favorite phrase.... "beauty is in the ear of the beholder". if thats the sound you want out of your car... go ahead.

Have had Flowmaster on every car I've had, from V6's to V8's all have sounded verygood. A lot of my friends run Flowmaster. They sound great, don't cost much. I like to hear my exhaust instead of struggling to hear it.

A little, The more you do to get cold air in the intake and get the hot exhaust gases out of the engine the more power you will make, Take the U bend out and Hi flow cat or no cat if you can and that will be a little more power.

As far as sound goes I personally dont like a loud exhaust on a stock motor of any kind v6 or v8 to me they do sound ricey. But a nice higher lift cam and and some 10:1 pistons smoothly flowing out some long tube headers undesturbed by the burnt out glasspacks hanging at the end of them, and the idle turned down so low you can hear every cylinder fire thats what I like WOW I think I'm having flashbacks from the 60's and 70's I'm a old dude too!

This is true kweef, How much I don't know but it depends on how far you want to go. My daily drivers have a cat. My Z28 wouldnt run with cat.

I assume you are young kweef and if you are I am pleased that your generation has the brains to try and fix what my generation and others have worked so hard to f__k up.
