My wonderful girlfriend bought me the ceramic coated crossover pipe for x mas and was wondering since it didnt come with new gaskets or bolts, if anyone had any input on putting one of these in previously. Any hints or tricks would be appreciated! Thanks!

what brand pacesetter or egay?
you still have stock front/rear exhaust manifold on? doesn't help out alot if you just going upgrade cross pipe and still running stock manifold.

you can get a heating shield and it does the same thing. i have pacesetter with ceramic coat and i know it's still very hot under the hood. i never actually put a temp gauge by the tb, but i can tell the ceramic coat doesn't help that much.

It is the pacesetter one, on a stock manifold (for now) and I do have the heat shield already which did help a little.... just trying to keep the heat off the throttle body like Enzo said.

Honestly, something like thisprobably would have been a better first exhaust mod. I didn't see the non-stainless version listed on there, but they used to sell them for $80ish i think. You can find them lightly used on the forums for cheap though too.
As far as the bolt/gasket question though.....
The stock crossover uses 4 bolts, and one donut gasket.
The donut gasket is reuseable. Unless it's extremely brittle and cracked, it will be fine.
The bolts are reuseable as well.
However, the stock bolts can be pretty well seized in there, depending on the age of the car. I have heard of people breaking the stock bolts by accident when removing the crossover for the first time, but I didn't have any issues.

As far as the heat shields, ZZP SELLS them, but Tim told me FACE to FACE, that they aren't worth a s**t, and were basically ONLY for looks. The ceramic crossover DOES help, some. The heat shield: none. Looks only. I have the p'log n 3" downpipe. Wish I had the S&S headers.
