Installation is very simple and it does not use the radiator mount for install. The airbox is sealed off from the heat of the engine bay and is fully insulated. The lid, or cover, to the airbox is aluminum construction just like the airbox, and has a plexi glass window so that you can easily inspect your filter condition without having to remove any parts and pieces, while still keeping the entire airbox sealed off. The lid, or cover, is held in place with spring loaded quarter turn fasteners, so putting it on and removal of it is quick and easy. Both the airbox and lid are both powder coated for a nice looking durable finish, in either a Near Chrome or a Textured Black finish.

I hope that helps!

Figured I would give this thread a little bump. We have been selling quite a few CAI's recently for this application, and many of them has selected this forum as to where they heard about us during the checkout process. So lets see some installed pics and hear your thoughts if you recently bought and installed our CAI!!

Bill @ CAI Inc, I am planning on buying this intake for my 2002 SS pace Car. Is there any way I could get the filter for the intake in Yellow. My car is yellow, and I am wanting a intake in black to match engine compartment, but want filter to stand out as well. understand if it is not possible, but just asking

Thanks for your interest in our CAI for your Pace Car! It is possible to get a yellow filter, here's how. You will still need to buy the normal complete kit which will come complete with our standard red filter, then you would call us so that you can special order the yellow one, it will have special pricing and lead time which we can discuss when you call (I'd have to look up some details for you). Since a yellow media will show dirt easier/quicker, you may even want to run the red on for normal driving conditions and then throw the yellow one on for shows and stuff, that's what a lot of people who get a custom colored filter do. I hope that helps!
