i would bitch out the shop... your O2 was never bad. when you go with a high flow Cat, it is not as good as a stock cat for emissions. so the rear o2 sensor will throw a code.

what you need is a rear O2 simulator basicly it fools the computer into thinking everything is all good. or if you buy a PCM or know someone with a tuner you can have the code removed from the computer.

04+ Monte's O2 sensor is different than previous O2 sensors. Found this out from Zoomer at ZZP.

The old sensors the simulators would take care of just registered that O2 was good. The new sensors step it up and check the temperature as well. The only way to clear the code now is with a Programmer as the stock PCM replacements don't clear the code, or purchase a OBD2 scanner that can clear the code - these cost between $60-$100 but in my mind are worth it as you can troubleshoot anyones car.

i want to make sure that the annoying light doesn't come back on anymore. also the muffler shop that put the 02 sensor on i thought they cleared the code but it still came back on.

You can get the OBD2 scanners anywhere - Sears, Walmart, Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, Checkers, etc.

For the programmer: www.hptuners.com and http://65.109.52.43/home_index.htm I recommend the HP Tuners one as the GUI is much better and you can use it on multiple cars not just one or one group of cars. You can use it to program Camaro's, Blazers, GTO's, etc.

I took mine to the auto parts store and they reset it for me for free. You just gotta act oblivious to cars and let them check it out.
