Can a 01' really get loud without the ricer sound?
I have a 01' ss and would love to hear some low deep exhuast sounds and not the ricer screams I've seen on every youtube video... Can this truly be done on the 3800, or I'm a wasting a thread?
Thanks for any replies

Try this out... this is mine and I was the same way your are... no ricer sound and if I say so myself, it turned out exactly the sound I wanted!

My setup with ubend delete and 40 series flows sounds pretty mean, for a 3.4 6 cylinder!! Cost about $400 US. Don't have a vid recorder or would give y'all a sound check!1 maybe I can borrow one from someone... Dudes at work thought it was the 5.3!!!

IMO, no it can't. From what I've heard in person- the louder the exhaust setup is, the more raspy it gets. I wouldn't call it ricey though, certainly doesn't sound like a 4 cylinder to me- just sounds like a nasty V6. I've heard true duals on 3800 camaros that don't sound quite as bad, but overall- its just not a great sounding engine regardless how you cut it- it'll never have a 5.0L mustang V8 sound, or LSX sound, or anything like that.
Don't get me wrong- my monte is pretty loud, and I love the sound at idle, and just above (due to the cam)- but at part throttle, or even WOT at those mid-rpms, it just sounds gross.
