@03SSLE:

I made my mind up on CAI, Inc. a couple months ago, & will be ordering one in about a month. Not going with the powdercoating though.

Default Code Tripping

Still tripping the rear O2 code after changing both the rear O2 sensor and the cat. For some reason I seem to be getting worse mileage than before I changed both of those items. Anyone have any ideas?

What did you replace the cat with?

I took my headlight assembly out to change my headlights this weekend, and I noticed that there is a good size factory hole behind the headlight that leads straight to the air box. Taking out the headlight would be a great idea for when you take it down the drag strip. If you have a K&N cold air intake it goes straight up to the headlight. It works perfect. Has anyone else noticed this hole?

I have an '04 monte.. Not sure if its the same set up as your '07... I don't have an aftermarket intake.. yet. Probably get one when my tax return comes. The hole in the core support goes straight to my factory air box, but i've seen how most aftermarket intakes go straight to the headlight. Wasn't sure if it was intended for the headlight to be taken out at the track, or if I'm just a little slow and figuring this out lol..

I replaced it with a similar cat. I don't know what brand, but I think it is close to OEM. My exhaust guy is pretty good with stuff, I don't think he would put anything "worse" than OEM on it. I didn't want to delete it or anything. After driving my silverado with headers and dual flowmasters I like my quiet Monte...

If it where me I would get a wizaird air or cold air inductions Kit just for the look. The cone filter looks way cooler then the stock air box. just a thought.
