I have that system...
honestly I would go with the Wizaired system: https://www.zzperformance.com/grand_...=247&catid=113
The K&N LOOKS fantastic, however the heat shield on it is a piece of crap. That let's warm air to your filter and ruins the benefits of a CAI.
The Wizaired will be fully enclosed and ensure that just cold air gets to the filter. Add the filter and purchase for cheaper than the K&N system.

You should be able to do this yourself with no problems at all.
It's a great first modification for someone to do
And yeah I would just get the filter that comes optioned with it, or you can go to a parts store and find the equivalent filter by AEM

I have the coldairinductions intakwe on my Monte. It is an EXCELLENT product, and made really well. The box is insulated and all aluminium. Its actually very similar to the Wizard intake.
As Mike mentioned, the coldairinductions one does use the stock intake tube, but when you install it, it stretches the rubber boot, making it pretty smooth (eliminating the corgated pleats). So I don't see a probelm with it using the stock intake tubing.
