Default 3.4 air intake...

Whats everybodies take on this? I don't know a whole lot about these cars yet... just recently bought my first one.

Other then the fact that there is no heat sheild... still a good buy if your a willing to build your own.

seems like every other off brand CAI. the main problem you mentioned yourself.... no heat shield! The heat sheild is what I paid my money for... I could fab up my own CAI tubing and get a cone filter, but I wanted a custom fit heat shield. the intake looks smooth so it should have a good flow going in, but I would try to pick myself up a K&N cone filter, either the 4" or 9". overal good buy, but, Id be changing it the moment I got it.

there is no reason to pay the money for a true K&N i have a cheep filter from autozone and i have no restriction at High rpm. my car is pretty well modded right now and i have yet to push the limits of flow on this filter. i didnt spend more the $25 for it. they last for a year or two... then you can either clean them... or buy a new one. the major probs that any intake cause's are made worse by those reOil kits the KN uses. excess oil builds up on the MAF sensor and can either damage it or at the very least make it inaccurate.

bottom line is if you can get the filter and that tube for under 25 shipped go for it ... if not go buy a filter at autozone and build your own. but dont build it like they did in the pic.... that would only pull in hot engine air... and even though you are getting more air then before that air is hot and less dense... you computer will see the higher intake temps and pull Ignition timing (timing is at the heart of making power) only with a true cold air intake will there be any real HP/performance gains. along with the perf comes better gas milage too!
