well thank you all!!! and i think im going to do the Y pipe with the magnaflows, i also heard about taking out the resonator has anyone done this? does it really help? and will it affect emmisions? thanks again all!!

DONT take out the resonator. It will sound raspy and drone while driving.

when i had my monte i still had my resonator and it was raspy still. is that just bc it was a dohc?

Resonators don't do anything for emissions, it's the catalytic converter that cleans the exhaust. Resonators are like a big long muffler. I think I'm going to get a Magnaflow one or something made of stainless steel since the stock one always leaks, then mount it closer to the mufflers, it substantially cuts on drone mounting it farther back.

Is there any specific 40 series flowmaster that sounds best on the 3100?

I had a Deltaflow 40 series Flowmaster on my 3100. Just chop off the stock muffler and put the Flowmaster on there. Sounds FANTASTIC. Just make sure you get a decent exhaust tip, contrary to popular belief, that does have a substantial effect on how it sounds.

hey i have a 95 with a 3.1 and all i did was ripp down the side of my muffler and it gave it a nice deep racer tone not like a fart cannon sound but a rough tough sound just dont rip to big or else sounds like **** i found out on friends muffler

you cut your muffler to make it louder? Not exactly brilliant as its just going to collect water and rust...

no rust or water if u cut on seam on side it acts as a shield for water
