Default 2003 jg edition monte carlo exhaust????

Kinda want other monte owners opinion. I have the 3.8 in my car. The only exhaust upgrade i have is a zzp 2.5 catless downpipe(live in vegas, the dont use sniffers when getting a smog). I still have the stock mufflers and resonator. I want to get my exhaust system for xmas as a gift for myself. But dont want to **** up and pick the wrong exhaust. Anybody kno which mufflers i should run for a DEEP sound? And if i should replace or cut off my resonator. Im stuck at picking either magnaflor or flowmaster. Need input. And i hate a raspy sound. Thankx

I went for custom made 3" stainless. I got mine custom made for a song and it was way cheaper than those zzp or magnaflow systems. I think the large bore helps the pitch. Its deep enough. I put a large glass pack in the system for a resonator. And I changed out the mufflers a couple of times looking for the right ones.

Ultimately, the mufflers will determine how your exhaust sounds. I personally do not like the sound of our v6's "open". I started with a couple of straight though Magnaflow mufflers and the car sounded like a small airplane. It needs to be muted. A couple of large chambered 3" mufflers shouldn't be too restrictive and sound great

Deep sound? I figure borla would be nice. But i also figured i would be spending alot for them as well.

I think for me it's a lot more then just the exhaust. It could start from the throttle body. I have an L36, with an L67 Throttle body, an HV3, port matched LIM, ZZP ER rockers, then a ZZP PLOG, a ZZP 2.5" DP with high flow cat, my res was cut out (because I kept blowing out baffles in the cheap-o replacements) and the rest is stock (the dual SS mufflers). I'm pretty happy with the sound. I don't find it raspy or droning.

At this point, the only exhaust change I have planned is swapping out the tips on the mufflers.

really? I still have my stock mufflers and i dont like my sound. Well maybe becuz it doesnt really make anysound. Lol my friend has a 02 firebird with the 3.8 and he has magnaflows it sound nice but at the same time sound like ****. Idk how to explain it. Lol

I ran into a monte owner out here in vegas who has a 2.5 inch downpipe with cat and a cherry bomb resonator and flowmaster super 44 or super 40 (forgot what he said) but it sounded really nice. Deep and no raspy bull **** at all.
