06 Monte SS - muffler delete good or bad?

Default 06 Monte SS - muffler delete good or bad?

I have a 2006 monte carlo ss i was thinking of deleting my mufflers, but was wondering is it bad for the engine? what im wondering is with out the mufflers would there be any engine valve damage? no back pressure to engine? or am ok? would appreciate anyones 2 cents on this subject

i know there has been a few do muffler delete. i will have less low end torque cus of the back pressure but i havent heard anyone having any trouble.

personally i dont like the sound of muffler delete. too raspy sounding for me

It will sound pretty much like any other ls engine with no mufflers. You wont lose torque if you have a full pipe length.

iv been thinking about doing this. just to see how it sounds. but not to sure. my flowmasters sound good but wanting a new sound

Is it clamped or welded? If its clamped you can just take them out?

I know demonspeeder did straight pipes from the cat back. . . i actually really like the sound of it, but yea, you'd be loosing a little from lack of BP. I'll try and find the sound clips he had up quick . . . .

right now my flows are clamped on, becuse i was thinking of eather doing a stright pipe or a whole diffrent cat back, so i clamped them on for now. im thinking of just taking off the flows and clamp n some pipe

Why not just un-clamp them and start it up? Honestly going out and taking off a bolt will be a lot better then asking a bunch of people their opinions...
