I like that PT Cruiser. I think it would look great with side pipes though.

heh, even falsies... When I was shopping for my 3rd car ever, I actually test drove a PT cruiser simply for kicks and giggles... I was impressed (thinking it was just a N/A I4) but it turned out to have a turbo. Not that it was all that powerful, but simply because it had much more pickup than I would have expected from a looker... not a launcher...

I try not to let my g/f drive my car(s). She doesn't like giving it back.

Her car is a mess. I fix it for her (3rd or 4th time) and she abuses it again. Her idea of decent driving is 0 - 60 in less then 2 seconds and the car has two speeds. Wide open and off.

She will shift the car from one gear to another with the car still rolling (example here is drive - reverse) then wonders why the car is making a funny noise?

Do I like letting her drive one of my cars? Not really.

Talking about scorts, when i got married about 4 years ago I used to keep my 95 green Escort nice and cleaned and clay barred. My wife drove the 02 Monte cause she couldn't drive stick.

On her days off could I drive the Monte to work or about soI was forced to keep the Monte as a weekend thing. Not really my choice but it kept my milage down 02 monte just turn 90K and got it around 31K in 03'.
Once again, in memoriam of my 'scort,'

This was my gas cruncher until my daughter did the ultimte roll-over.

I enjoyed driving this car no knowing that I had my Yamaha 1200, Caddy, Monte, and Ram 3500 parked at home.

I drove a 91 honda accord DX with over 200k on it. Windshield cracked, the inside door handles broke (I had to poke my finger into the hole and push the release rod to open the door), no a/c, no radio, gas tank leaked badly. I drove this when I could drive any car on the lot as a demo (except corvettes). Why? I smoke, and I could smoke in my beater, but not in a company car.

I still smoke... I know... but I don't smoke in the SS, or inside the house, or around the wife and kids... So, I smoke, but a lot less now.

People do judge you by your car! I just don't care!!! People in my business judge you by how you dress too, again, I don't care! When I was in sales, I was #1, month in, month out... Dressed in Dockers, Payless Shoes, and wore a cheap timex watch. I own suits, I just refused to wear them -- if I didn't have too!

Here is the thing... while I don't mind driving a beater, when I drive the SS, IT MUST LOOK PERFECT AT ALL TIMES!!! It doesn't bother me to wear cheap clothes, but when I wear a suit, IT MUST BE PERFECT!!! In other words, if it costs money, IT MUST LOOK LIKE IT COST MONEY!!! and IT MUST BE FLAWLESS!!! If it is cheap, I don't care, because it can be thrown away and I don't care.
