Was it worth it? Pt. 2
IDK - I'm thinking that even if you did alot of work yourself, you'd need $10,000 and a lot of time to fix it up. Maybe $15,000 if you farmed it out. $20,000 if you want something that would impress at a car show. If it's an SS, you could justify it (maybe) if it's just a regular old Monte Carlo, maybe not. Of course, it only has to make you happy - not everyone else. Just know that for $10,000 - $15,000 you could buy a real nice Monte of that era - a true SS.

I'd make it a daily driver, a work in progress kinda thing and maybe a better one will come along. My buddy was fixing up a 70's muscle car years ago and in the hunt for parts he came across a nicer convertible.
If you have another daily driver then I think it could be a fun project. If not... It isn't worth it. Don't let the nature of the job deter your ultimate goal. Start out by making a list of the general areas that will need addressed. Then for each of those areas, create a sub-list. Then, just start working on one part at a time until you are done. It isn't going to happen overnight or even in a month of solid work. But it WILL happen one day.
P.S. Invest in a media blasting cabinet...
