...... but because theres no G as the 8th digit in my vin, its looked at as not one of the others
I get the same. When the MonteCarloSS.com members got together to do a group photo at the 2007 Monte Nationals, I heard a couple of times "RJ. That's not an SS. You can't park here."

Sure I know they were teasing. At least I hope they were?????

Winter projects. (do they have to be Monte related to post?)

White Station Wagon. Needs intake pulled, old paint stripped off and either new paint applied or powder coated. I know the intake is leaking and I suspect the source of my oil leak problems with the 350 in there.

Pink Hardtop. Remove intake, install re-worked intake and carb. Do ssome other dress up work under the hood while I'm there. I have several other new and re-worked parts I want to install. The car REALLY needs a new clutch set up. but the funds never seem to be there?

Sedan Delivery. It really needs a carb rebuild. So........ if the funds are there, do that.

Work on my very FIRST car.

Work on latest '57 if I can manage to.

Keep the '06 Monte in top running condition.

Just some of the things I plan on doing over the winter.

Ok i have a 85 ss. When i bought it it had nitro drop shocks and springs. Actually i wanted the higher rear to look beafer so put stock springs and shocks in it. I also noticed that i was getting a little scraping cause had bigger tires. I have 16" pontiac gta rims on it had 245/50. When i put the stock shocks back on i went to 225/50 front and kept 245/50 in rear

to lower the car i believe there was a site where a guy had a really good setup using springs for a s10 in the front with hotchkiss upper control arms. i think he did that to upgrade to the fbody rotors and what not. ill search around when i get a chance. on your wheel tire package. i would run 6s in the front and 8s in the rear personally thats the set up ive always gone for. i like the big small look. i usually run a 195 in the front and a 275 in the rear.i think 1os are too much rim. on a disc brake set up for the rear. i havent seen anyone pull it off for cheap. at this point if youre still running the 7.5 and going to do a gear swap and what not you might want to just hold out and save up for a loaded 12bolt, 9', or dana 60 with discs on it already. not to mention you might have the 9"rotors in the front and it would be kinda silly to have a nice big disc brake set up in the back and then the whimpy discs in the front.

i have a 9in but it needs worked, and wont be ready any time soon,
so ill just get the 7.5 good for now, till the 9s done,
the disc set up im looking at are 10.5 rotors, so might look the same with the larger tire out rear too, the looks will even out
as for the lowering, im thinkin about cuttin the springs a lil to drop the front, and maybe sum new shocks.........

82-92 camaros were the easiest source for disc brakes; you may have to look for them now but should not be as difficult if you have access to a salvage yard. btw, a clone or not you have a great looking ss.

4th gen V6 springs?

I ask cause my girlfriend Deb's '81 LC Monte is a 229 V6 car. I doubt her car sets any lower then my '86 LS. Infact I'm sure my car sets lower.
