You have an LTZ...sometime when you get a chance could you measure yours? That would clear everything up!

 

You want to know the outside diameter of the tail pipes, right?

 

yes.

 

I measured both and get 2 1/4.

It almost looked like they measure at 2 3/16 but 2 1/4 is probably a better answer.

 

Cool, thanks man. Looking closer at Solara's pics, it looks like he has tips installed, which would account for the discrepancy. Sorry to waste your time, I guess curiosity got the best of me.

In the end what everyone is trying to tell you shmedley is that the tips you are looking at WILL NOT fit a 3.9 V6 equipped Monte.

 

I have an accessories booklet Chevy released for the 2002 Montes.

In it, it lists parts you "Should" still be able to order?

I noticed a few parts I thought I might like ot try and find, like the Monte Carlo logo car cover. This accessories booklet also lists exhaust tips, so I did a little web searching. I couldn't find these tips but I did find GM lists two seperate tips for '06/07 Montes.

One is priced at as set at $98. The other is priced per piece at $75. According the gmpartsdirect site the set fits SS, the per unit fits the 3.9 exhaust.

To me they both look like the same exhaust tip?

I don't know about you guys but ifI really wanted the tips on my Monte, I'd rather pay the $98 per set then the $75 per piece.

 

Actually, this whole discussion has proven the opposite, that they indeed would fit.

 

Well it's great then that they will fit for ya. I personally wouldn't put anything on mine that isn't a GM accessroy, but that's just my .02 worth.
