What's your mpg?
My monte's gas mileage is pretty crumby. The only time I calculated it was years ago and it was in the mid-low teens in the city. I guess that's somewhat to be expected between the big cam, high stall converter and driving it rather hard. I expect it to be even worse once I get it running since I switched it over to E85. Who knows, I might end up about the same on average since I'll be doing a lot more highway driving out here in AZ.
Didn't build it for the gas mileage though. At least the vette gets decent mileage. Does a solid 30 mpg if you stay on the highways at a reasonable speed.

The BudChev, with its s/c 3800, get in the range of 19-23 mpg in the city if I'm not standing on it all the time. Taking it easy on the highway, it get's about 28 mpg. All my calculation are based off converting the computer L/100km info
Just curious as to what mpg you get out of your monte? There's the said mpg the dealer's say u get...but then there is the actual mpg based on where u live, how you drive and the gas you use. Curious as to which generation got better fuel mileage too.
I need to run a full tank on the "new" engine yet to see what I get. But on my old one I got 21/22 city/back roads. And about 28 highway. I have the basic 3.4 in my 03 and I just use regular unleaded. And since I live in PA I have a lot of hills and bends to conquer.
Please share if you know your mpg. This info could help someone know if their car is getting the proper mpg as well.
