its not like any other car. the styling, shape and those damns sexy lines

its really underrated, and i love the look on peoples faces when they really notice it.

especially the Cappuccino Frost paint. it gets just as many compliments as the car itself. people are always stopping me on the street to ask me what color it is. and that sound. when you hit the gas. so satisying.

and ofcourse, the comfortable seats, and roomy back seat. my friends fight over the back seat. they say its like getting the royal treatment. lol . the versatility. with just a change of paint, it can be a completely different car. sports/muscle car, or fancy town car.

the giant trunk and back seats folding down are a big plus. me and my cousin took a trip up to chattanooga to buy a set of wheels for is trans am. when the guy saw what car we were in, he didnt think they were gonna fit... they did. lol.

For me, I love the bossy look it has. It's not considered a muscle car, but I think it's damn close. Dont they call them pony cars? Sorry, i'm not quite educated with classifying cars.

I love the huge *** end on the newer ones, I have an 03 JG SS Edition and have been meaning to take pics asapbut I loove monte carlos. They are so damn cool and unique.
The Monte Carlo is not and never was a PONY CAR. The first pony car was the 64 Plymouth Barracuda and was followed soon after by the 64 1/2 Ford Mustang. The pony cars were a small exclusive group. Although the Barracuda and Mustang were the first and sold very well especially the Mustang, it wasn't long before they were joined by many more. Chevrolet joined the party in 67 with the Camaro and Pontiac with the Firebird also in 67. 67 also saw an all new Barracuda as well as a face lift for the Mustang. In 1968 Mercury joined the pony car club with the first generation Mercury Cougar. Sometime in this time line American Motors also got an invitation and showed up with their Javelin. 1970 saw the last new name plate to the pony car group with the addition of the Dodge Challenger. By 1974 the Barracuda and Challenger were gone. The Javelin had also left the party. The Cougar for 74 had become large and was now a personal luxury coupe competing with the Monte Carlo for sales. The Firebird left the party in or around 2002 as well as the Camaro leaving only the Mustang. Around 2008 we saw the Challenger return and in 2010 the Camaro came back.
The Monte Carlo has always been marketed by GM as a personal luxury coupe. I would find it hard to not consider some of the first generation Monte's and the fourth generation Monte Carlo SS muscle cars. The first generation could be had with most of the options that were available on a Chevelle including the largest engine the 454. It could also be had with buckets, a console and I think even a standard transmission. Seems like a muscle car formula to me. The formula had changed some in the eighties but the Monte SS and Buick Grand National were definitely in the group.
My favorite things about the Monte Carlo is styling that stayed true to itself. Although the front wheel drive and the rear wheel drive are two completely different cars, you can look at any generation Monte from any angle and say "Yup, that's a Monte Carlo". You can't say that about many other cars. Even the Mustang from time to time kind of lost it's direction. My favorite would be the rear drive cars with the fourth generation being my favorite followed by the 3rd generation, to the first gen and the the heavy second gen. The front drivers ar ok.
I really like the interior as well if it has buckets and floor console. They all looked good. I love the aerocoupe, T-Tops, and the SS cars. The Earnhardt SR. Tribute cars. I can't think of much prettier on the road than a black Monte with a red gut. That is just my opinion. Gregg
