I understand that they have the word Intimidator on them and there's only 4,000 made, but I cannot for the life of me identify anything truly special about them. For all I know I could just stick the Intimidator badge on my LT and nobody would be the wiser. Is there any tangible separation between those and an SS? What makes them limited edition?

Intimidator, depending on which one you're talking about, have quite a few things different.

They both have the highsport package with different gauge clusters and the pace car spoiler. The bezel on the passenger side air bag is also different.

The 01 has the galaxy silver highsport, no s/c and two toned seats with the earnhardt headrests.

The 04 has a black highsport and a s/c engine, along with black leather seats and the earnhardt headrests.

I'm sure there's some more but that's all I can think of off hand

 

02 not 01 & they have red bow tie headrests in the 02 with red pin stripe above the silver lip kit & #3 with sig & the 04 is what u have posted

 

Mechanically (engine/transmission) they're the same as other SS's. It's mainly cosmetic differences, as Mitch and Mike have described.
