>What grade would you give your Monte Carlo ? Why ?
I'd say a B or B- for my 04, it could use a repaint, and has a couple other minor things. Otherwise it just needs some maintenance. My 97 gets an F since its no longer usable.
I would have to give mine a solid A. I know they are known for having some issues but so far so good for me and maintaining it has been easy.
going with A+ because no matter what i love turbo monte and give her anything and everything she needs or wants.... she is spoiled and very high maintenance which makes her beautiful and fast to deserve an A+
I rate mine currently at around a C.
Reason being its a middle of the road model, Its nothing fancy... Its not Super or Turbo charged.. Its basically a Plain Jane. 5th Gen with a few body add on's. with a killer stereo system. Its a daily driver .. A Michigan one at that... Maybe with out the paint chips, and minor dents and dings, minor rust I might rate it a little higher. Did I mention... Its already 15 yr's old. 167,000 + miles and counting
But I'm being honest it and keeping it real...
Don't get me wrong... I will always love my Monte Carlo.. I've had it since day 1 and plan on driving it til the wheels fall off..

I have to give mine an A+ because I've had 0 issues with it and with my time an effort have made it nearly perfect. But with only 29,000 miles on it, it's hardly broken in. I put less than 1,000 miles on it a year and it ONLY goes to the important car shows.
Thanks everyone for posting/voting. It's great to see that the majority are keeping their Monte's in great shape & running condition.
I'm sure the member that gave their Monte a "F" could get a higher grade `if they take the time + some $'s to improve...
* Keane, Sorry to read about your 97
I hope that you can get it fixed/repaired with another engine or rebuild (?)...Or sell it & use the $'s for your S.S.

I would give my monte a B. It has had issues but i have put over 40,000 miles in the last year and a half. It is my daily driver too and i am also the third owner too. So i am not sure how it was treated before me. It is still a great car none the less.

I'm going to say that my Monte deserves an A- as it sits right now. Yes, it's got 200K on it. But it's a California car, therefore the body is in EXCELLENT condition. Minor rock chips on the hood are the only paint blemish...zero dings/ dents. Interior is in near perfect condition. The engine runs strong and is very healthy and now that it's got a newly rebuilt transmission, I know the car is in excellent running order for many more miles to come. It's overall reliability from New-Current has been great with few problems!
