Congrats on the buy! Also, a common and annoying problem I've had with my 05 (don't know if other 5/6 gens have he same issue) is the driver side window getting tape residue stuck to it from inside the door panel. Chevy had a massive fail when putting together the wires that control that window and a lot of cars are getting a long line of sticky, hard to remove tape residue on the inside of their driver doors.
I took the door panel off and covered said wires in duct tape and that was the end of that, but removing the residue is pretty difficult - check for that problem also.
Other than that, like others have said, congrats on the monte, she's a stunna.

I second that I only have an '05 and the electrical system decides to act weird sometimes; i.e. Dome light not coming on when you open the door, or it shuts off 5 seconds while the door is open.. It gets annoying at nighttime when your trying to get out of the car... Fortunately it doesn't happen very often though. Otherwise you got a nice Monte. I would check the engine over very closely, and check with the owner if the infamous Lower Intake Manifold Gasket was replaced. (Both the 3.4 and 3.8 had this issue by the way..) The Dex-Cool eats away at the factory gasket, causing a leak- I think GM didn't catch it until 2004 or so.. Also, check with your local Chevy dealer, as there is a recall out there for the 3.8L engines. It has to do with oil leaking onto the exhaust manifold and catching on fire. This forum has more info on that.
