Default What Brand O2 Sensor to get?

Hi MCF
I find myself in need of an O2 sensor, (Bank 1).
I've been online and found the Boche one for $20. But I heard Boche and 6th Gens don't work well with each other! Is that true?
And if So, is there a site I can go to that will have a good sensor for under 40 Bucks?

You are 100% best with an AC Delco. Second best (which I'm running) is Delphi. Check RockAuto.com and Amazon.com. You will probably get a better price then the parts store (even with shipping).

BOSCH O2's have been known to have issues with our cars (throwing CEL codes). What many people don't understand is that with how emission restrictions keep getting tighter, the tuning of these cars is also getting tighter (including the criteria for CEL codes). Different brand O2 sensors can be built to slightly different specs or give slightly different readings. Does not mean you will notice a difference, BUT your PCM might (and that's where the CEL comes in). Granted, yes, it can be a combo of more then just an O2 sensor, but that plays a big part in the equation.

So I would stand with AC Delco or Delphi.

Thanks Jason! Now I forgot to mention that I have a Magnaflow Cat and will be getting the Magnaflow Glasspak resonator. Will either or both the AC Delco and the Delphi work with that setup?

As long as you have the bungs for an O2 sensor (and I'm sure you do), your exhaust setup doesn't matter beyond that. Your cat can influence emissions, but the rest of the exhaust (generically speaking) does not have impact on the emissions coming out of the car. If you have a Magnaflow high flow cat, you run the risk of a P0420 code no matter what you do (common issue even if the cat is not bad, high flows do that). You can have the code deleted from the PCM (I have a thread offering that little service). And I've heard of random issues where non OEM cats can cause the P0420 code as well (the likely hood of it just is not as common as it is with a High Flow cat).
Hope that makes sense.

I hope for your sake you have a California air pump on the back of your motor..... I had to change the O2 on my rear exhaust mani (before the cat) twice. Piece of cake. Granted, I cheat lol. I used a long enough extension on my breaker bar so my bar was above the engine (lots of room to bust it loose). Worked perfect, took about 5-10 minutes total.
I have not done one with a Cali air pump, but I've seen those pumps and they can get in the way....

Yeah it's bank 1, the one before the cat. It's giving me a Too Lean code. Gas mileage is about 20MPG.
